Pharmacy Courses After 10th

Pharmacy courses

 

In order to become a Pharmacist in India, one must complete a relevant pharmacy course. In India, pharmacy courses are available in the following formats –

  • Undergraduate level courses
  • PG courses (Master’s, Diploma and Certificate)
  • Doctoral programs

 

Undergraduate courses can be pursued after completing 10+2 Science stream. In short, if you want to pursue a good pharmacy course after 10th, it is simply not possible!

 

You must complete 10+2 Science stream in order to be considered eligible to pursue courses such as D.Pharm., Pharm D and B.Pharm!

So, after completing 10th, enroll for 11th and 12th PUC in Science stream. After completing 12th Science, you may choose any one of the following Pharmacy courses –

  • Diploma in Pharmacy
  • B.Pharm. (Bachelor of Pharmacy)
  • Pharm D (Doctor of Pharmacy)

 

Diploma in Pharmacy course is 3 years long. 12th Science passed students are eligible to pursue this course. In order to secure admission into reputed colleges, one must crack relevant Diploma entrance test.

 

After completing D.Pharm. course, one may secure admission directly into the second academic year of B.Pharm. course. This scheme is called lateral entry.

 

B.Pharm. course is 4 years long. 12th Science passed students are eligible to pursue this course. In order to secure admission into reputed colleges, one must crack relevant entrance test.

 

After completing B.Pharm., one may go for M.Pharm. or PG Diploma programs.

 

Pharm D is a Doctoral Degree course. Still, 12th Science passed students are eligible to pursue this course! In order to secure admission into reputed colleges, one must crack relevant entrance test.
