In this post, we will deal with tips and tricks that will help you prepare decently for the exam in relatively less amount of time! Each year, when 10th board exam is around the corner, I get questions from hordes of students and their parents.

 

Most of these questions revolve around questions such as – preparation tips, subject-wise tips and tricks, queries regarding syllabus, career guidance etc. One question that caught my attention recently is – “How to prepare for the exam in short period of time?”.

 

The student who asked this question admitted that he wasted much of the academic year due to lack of concentration, illness and other distractions. He said that his preparation had no direction or progress.

 

He was just interested in one thing – “How can I prepare decently for the exam in less time and secure passing/decent marks?”. After reading his question and plight, I decided to write a detailed post. This post will be of help to students who are short on time and whose exam preparation hasn’t progressed much!

Tips to prepare for 10th board exam in short period of time

 

1 Use the remaining amount of time wisely

The first thing that a student must do is – make up his/her mind to utilize the remaining amount of time wisely! You may start this off by creating a time table. The time table should be practical, no-nonsense and efficient.

 

2 Create a positive mindset

With less amount of time left on the clock, students may tend to get demoralized! Under such circumstances, one must try to maintain a positive mindset! What students must understand is – there’s still hope!

 

3 Analyze the syllabus thoroughly

If you want to prepare for the exam in short time, you must have detailed knowledge about the syllabus. Analyzing the syllabus will help you identify important chapters, important sections, important problem sets etc.

 

After analyzing the syllabus and identifying important sections, you may devote adequate amount of time towards these sections! It will help you score decently in the exam!

 

4 Marks distribution

Analyzing the syllabus can also help you know more about marks distribution. Some chapters/sections/parts of the syllabus may carry more marks in the question paper. It is an excellent strategy to identify such key areas and devote adequate amount of time towards preparing them.

 

5 Solve previous years’ question papers

Solving previous year’s question paper is beneficial in different ways. First of all, it will help you identify questions that are asked frequently each year! Apart from that, solving papers will also help you know more about marks distribution. Based on these inputs, you may give proper direction to your preparation process. You may easily obtain previous years’ papers on online education portals and question banks.

 

6 Distraction-free surroundings

When there’s less time left before the exam begins, it is not wise to waste any more time! Make sure that your study-room is free from distractions. Mobile phones, TV, other gadgets – your study-room must be free from such common sources of distraction.
