A DTH network consists of elements such as – broadcasting centers, satellite network, encoders, multiplexers, modulators and DTH receivers. The DTH set top box that we use at our home is a DTH receiver. Its main task is to receive the signal and display the broadcasted material on our TV set.

A small dish antenna receives this signal and passes it on to the DTH set top box. The set top box decodes the encrypted transmission and passes it on to the TV set. As a result, we are able to access different channels and content on our TV set.
