It is a trade training course. The course is offered by Government as well as Private ITI institutes across India.


Course Duration: ITI Photography course is 1 year long. The academic programs is divided into two semesters, with each semester lasting for a period of 6 months.


The academic program has trade theory as well as trade practical sessions.


Eligibility Criteria: 10th passed students (from a recognized board) are eligible to pursue this course.


2 Certificate courses

Certificate programs are the shortest of all. Many private institutes across India offer certificate photography courses. Some of the well known certificate programs are-

  • Commercial Photography
  • Photography and Image Editing


Course duration: Certificate courses lasts for a period of 3-6 months.


Eligibility criteria– Depends on the institute. Many institutes accept 10th passed students (from a recognized board).


3 Diploma courses

Diploma courses related to professional photography are offered by numerous private institutes across India.


Some of the well known Diploma programs are-

  • Diploma in Digital Photography
  • Diploma in Fashion Photography

Course duration: It may vary from one institute to another. Generally, it is around 1-2 years. Shorter duration Diploma courses are available too (example- 6 months long program).

Other than the ITI, Certificate and Diploma courses, 10th passed students may also attend photography workshops to enhance their skills and knowledge.


Photography courses after 12th and advanced courses

If you are willing to undergo 11th and 12th standard schooling (any stream) after 10th, you will have access to Bachelor’s Degree photography courses as well as Advanced Diploma in photography courses. Examples of such courses include-
