Vocational Courses: An Introduction
In simple terms, vocational training courses are skill-enhancing programs. Central and State Government offer this course under skill development programs carried out across India.
The Government is keen on providing vocational training to Indian youth. These programs are designed in such a way that the students acquire industry-specific skills. These skills can help them find a job.
In short, these courses can help tackle unemployment rate in India. This is the main reason why the Government is investing heavily towards skill development missions and vocational training programs.
The target audience of such courses include – unemployed youth, those seeking job urgently and students who possess low educational qualifications. Due to this reason, vocational training programs are often designed to be short-term courses. This is not true in all cases though!
In India, vocational training programs are available in formats such as – Certificate courses, Diploma courses, Bachelor’s Degree courses and workshops.
Certificate courses and Diploma courses are short-term programs. B.Voc. is a Bachelor’s Degree vocational course. You may also check – vocational courses after 12th in India.
