Why do these colleges & universities in Alabama don’t require a high school diploma or GED for admission?
Most universities & colleges in the USA need applicants to have a high school diploma or GED. It is the minimum educational qualification required to enrol for a 2-year or 4-year program in the USA. In other words, it is not possible to enrol for university/college without possessing a high school diploma or GED.
But you may make use of alternatives such as – HiSET or TASC. These are good alternatives to a high school diploma or GED. Just like GED, HiSET & TASC are also high school diploma equivalency exams.
HiSET stands for High School Equivalency Test. As the name suggests, this test is used to gauge the academic aptitude of a candidate. In other words, the test helps evaluate a candidate and determines his/her college-readiness. TASC stands for Test Assessing Secondary Completion. Like GED & HiSET, TASC is also a high school diploma equivalency exam.
How to apply for college/university admission without a high school diploma or GED in Alabama?
College admission application process can be carried out online. Interested candidates must keep an eye on the college’s website. As soon as the admission application dates are announced, a candidate may apply online. Application forms and documents can be obtained online. These forms and applications can be filled up and submitted online. In short, college admission process can be carried out online. Please note that you must possess alternate high school diploma equivalency such as HiSET or TASC, in order to be considered eligible for admission!
What about requirements such as ACT or SAT tests?
Don’t worry about tests such as SAT or ACT. The universities/colleges mentioned in this list also have an open admission policy. Under this system, these colleges/universities carry out non-selective and non-competitive admission process. In other words, there’s no need to provide SAT/ACT scores while applying for admission!
Important note
Here, I’ve listed down universities/colleges and programs that have non-competitive admission policy. And these colleges accept alternatives to high school diploma (such as HiSET or TASC or even GED). However, admission policies may change from time to time. I request my readers to visit the official website of the college or university and check the exact admission requirements for 2-year & 4-year degree programs.
