Polytechnic colleges offer job oriented diploma courses. These diploma courses can be classified broadly into two types –
- Technical Diploma courses
- Non-Technical Diploma courses

Usually, technical diploma programs last 3 years (each). Each academic year is divided into two semesters. Each semester is 6 months long.
Duration of non-technical diploma programs could be anywhere between 1-3 years. Such programs deal with areas such as – soft skills and vocational training. Example – Diploma in Office Management, Diploma in Beauty Culture and Diploma in Office Automation.
