Government Polytechnic colleges in Punjab charge very low tuition fees. This is the main reason why majority of students prefer these colleges over aided and private institutes. In this post, I’ve listed down some of the best Government polytechnic colleges in Punjab.

 

There exists three main types of polytechnic colleges in Punjab –

  1. Government Colleges
  2. Aided Colleges
  3. Private Colleges

 

Government polytechnic colleges, as the name suggests, are managed and maintained by the State Government. The Government has a body – the DTE (Directorate of Technical Education) – to take care of all aspects related to these colleges. For diploma jobs, please check – govt jobs after diploma.

 

Expense associated with running Government polytechnic colleges is borne by the Government. Thus, these colleges are able to charge relatively low tuition fees.

 

Aided colleges are not owned by the Government. But these colleges receive Government’s support and financial aid. You may also check – D.El.Ed. colleges in Punjab.

 

Private colleges are owned and operated by private trusts, organizations and bodies. They are free to set the fees as per Government norms and guidelines. They are known to charge relatively higher tuition fees.

The above mentioned polytechnic colleges are known to offer two main types of Diploma courses (for 10th and 12th pass students) –

  1. Technical Diploma courses
  2. Non-Technical Diploma courses

 

Technical programs are also known as Diploma in Engineering programs. One such course is 3 years long.

 

Non-technical programs could be 1-3 years long. These programs normally deal with soft-skills and vocational training.
