In India, the minimum academic qualification required to become an air hostess is – 10+2 pass in any stream (Arts, Commerce or Science). So, if you are a 12th pass student, you may start applying for this job!

Though 12th pass students may apply for air hostess jobs right after schooling, it’s better to pursue a relevant course before applying! There’s a reason behind it.

Reasons why you should pursue a relevant course before applying for a job

As I mentioned before, 12th pass students are academically qualified to apply for this job! However, they must also satisfy certain physical and medical requirements (discussed in detail ahead). After recruitment, airlines usually provide them with air hostess training.

However, nowadays, the recruiters give preference to candidates who have pursued and qualified a relevant air hostess training course (or other relevant courses). This helps them obtain an already ‘familiarized’ candidate, instead of the ‘non-familiarized’ 12th pass candidates!

This recruitment policy may change from one recruiter to another! In any case, it is better to pursue a relevant air hostess training course, as long as it boosts your chances of getting hired!

Pursuing air hostess training courses thus proves to be very beneficial. Pursuing relevant courses, which are related to domains such as – travel, tourism, hospitality and aviation, is also beneficial.
