Textile Engineering: An Introduction

Textile engineering is a branch of engineering that focuses on using principles of engineering, chemistry and textile processes in the process of textile manufacturing.

Diploma in Textile Engineering program is 3 years long. In case of most institutes, the academic program is divided into 6 semesters, with each semester lasting for a period of 6 months. Evaluation is carried out at the end of each semester.

 

Few institutes are also known to offer integrated course that covers Diploma and Bachelor’s Degree program (after completing Diploma)- Diploma + B.E./B.Tech. Textile Engineering.

Diploma holders with good grade may make use of lateral entry and join B.E./B.Tech. Textile Engineering program’s 2nd academic year (directly).
