Interior Design after 10th

Before heading to the meat of the matter, let us know more about the field of interior design. Let us check out what this field is all about.

Introduction

In simple terms, interior design is the art and science of enhancing interiors and exteriors of buildings, space and built environment to boost its aesthetic appearance.

Space utilization, space manipulation, decoration and surface treatment techniques are used to boost the appearance of interiors and exteriors of buildings. Not only does interior design focus on aesthetics, but it also gives importance to functionality, safety as well as legal aspects (like building codes and regulations).

An interior designer is a professional who is knowledgeable about topics like planning, functional design, interior decoration and optimal use of space.

There is a common notion that interior design is all about decorating buildings and spaces! But it is not true. Interior design is more than just decorating interiors! In fact, decorating interiors is merely a part of the whole design process.

As mentioned above, the entire process consists of stages like planning, design, decoration, site inspection etc. Interior designers make sure that the building or space is functional, safe and aesthetically pleasing at the same time.

Want to see how important interior design is? Just analyze the structure and construction of schools, hospitals, offices, theaters etc. These spaces have been designed to serve different purposes. Concepts of interior design makes these places more functional to us humans.
