About the Assam Polytechnic 2020 Examination

The polytechnic examination of Assam is proposed by the Directorate of Technical Education, Assam. According to the announcement of them this exam is conducted every year. The body which conducts the examination is known as The State Council for Technical Education. The Polytechnic Admission Test (PAT) 2020 will possibly commence in the month of May. The academic session is tentatively to start in August or September 2020. Also check – Govt jobs for diploma holders.

Assam PAT Eligibility Criteria

Qualification: As it is an entrance exam related to engineering and technology, every candidate should pass in Science and Mathematics as the compulsory subjects. The minimum qualification is 10th pass. It must be from any recognized board in India.

Medical Standards: Each candidate is expected to be mentally fit. Moreover, they should satisfy the desired physical standard.

Relaxations in terms to the marks obtained are also there, where the general candidates should obtain a minimum of 40% marks in aggregate, for SC candidates the minimum average marks required is 35% and the same for ST candidates it is 30% marks.

Assam Polytechnic 2020 Application Form

A candidate must strictly be a citizen residing in Assam for the acceptance of his candidature. No other application forms from the candidates will be accepted from those who do not reside in Assam.

The procedure of filling the application form is just like filling up any other application form online. There will be three phases.

1st Phase

In the 1st phrase, each candidate has to create a profile on the website. You as a candidate can look at the internet for the relevant links which can redirect you to the said website. After making a profile, the website will ask for a unique password. When you give the password, you will start on with the main part of filling the application form. Write all the fields of the application form with utmost care. See that there are no mistakes. Check at least three times after putting each entry.

• Every candidate should go through the information bulletin primarily before going to fill the application form. All the vital information related to the examination is given on that bulletin.

• It is to be remembered by the candidate at all times, that only one application form will be accepted from each candidate. In case of any mistakes after the entry of the application form, nothing could be done except the total cancellation if a further chance of correction is not given by the board.

2nd Phase

In the second phase, all candidates will need to upload their neat and tidy photograph as per the demand of the website. The size of the photograph will be given in the official bulletin.

The candidates also need to upload their signature on the preferred space given by the website. Both these documents should be scanned and uploaded.

The signature should be done preferably by a black pen.

3rd Phase

The last phrase deals with the payment of the application fees. The online generated bank challan will be available at the end of each process along with the confirmation page. All the candidates need to pay in the prescribed bank by the board.

The confirmation page and the received copy of the challan should be kept with the candidate. It may be required for the further usage.

Assam Polytechnic Application Fee

The application fee which is subjected by the board is Rs 400/-

The e-bank challans will only be available for the payment. Although all the candidates are expected to keep the tracks to the official website regarding all the information related to the payment of the e-challan.

Assam Polytechnic Examination Pattern

Every candidate should concentrate upon the examination pattern for this examination. Proper knowledge of the pattern of the exam will help the candidates to make preparations accordingly. There are many features related to the question setup of the examination they are given below:

• As the examination is an entrance for engineering and technology courses, the stress would obviously be given upon the subjects like Science and Mathematics.
• There will be 100 objective type questions for which 2 hours will be given. Each question will carry 4 options. One will be the correct answer among those 4 choices.
• The board will conduct this examination in the offline mode. The OMR sheets will be given to the students and they need to solve it. It will mandate that each candidate uses a black pen to solve the OMR sheets.
• The Modern Office Management papers are nowadays also included under syllabus. This examination will be conducted with the questions related to English and general knowledge.
• There will be several examination centers available for the students around the whole state.
• The examination centers will be located in the cities like Mangaldoi, Nagaon, Barpeta, Shivasagar, Jorhat, North Lakhimpur, Diphu, Dibrugarh, Silchar, Nalbari, Guwahati, Golaghat, Bongaigaon, and Tezpur.
• The examination centers would be allotted to each candidate by the board itself which will be written on the admit cards. In no case, the candidate would be able to change the allotted examination center.

Cut Off Marks

Cut Off is known as the minimum marks each candidate should obtain while taking admission. Without meeting the minimum cut off no one can be eligible to take the admission. The cut off marks may vary in case of various colleges.

Each year, the cut off tends to change. There are a number of factors upon which the fluctuation of the cut off depends.

Difficulty level: The difficulty level is the primary factor for which the cut off tends to vary each year. The reason being that the question paper might not be the same difficult every year.

Number of Candidates: This is the second factor upon which the cut off depends a lot. A varying number of candidates can make a variation on the cut off marks it can either get high or low.

A variation on the number of seats: It is a common reason why the cut off might either increase in fall. Where the lesser number of seats will give way to an increased cutoff, the opposite may also happen.

Policy changes regarding admission: In case the policies change regarding the admission of the candidates, the cut off may either increase or decrease.

Assam Polytechnic 2020 Syllabus

The class 10 level syllabus will be applicable for the subjects like Grammar, English, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Command of the language.

About the Answer Key of the PAT 2020 Examination

The board will publish an answer key for the students who will appear for the PAT 2020. This answer key will be available online on the official portal within a week or two of the commencement of the examination. With the help of this answer key, the candidates can look out for the number of questions they have done correctly and thus they can predict their score.

Counseling of the PAT 2020

The candidates who can stand upon their merit in terms of passing the entrance exam will be called for the counseling process. After the successful counseling procedure, each student will be allowed to take admissions in the different colleges which serve the polytechnic and engineering courses.

As a candidate, you should always consider keeping an eye upon the newspapers. They will bear the schedule of the counseling. Strict document verification is to be done at the time of counseling. In no case, should the bo0ard find any abnormality in the documents of the candidate like, the mark sheets of the previous exams passed, sports certificate, character certificate, caste certificate and employment certificate.

In case, the board finds any abnormality in any of the above certificates, the admission of that particular candidate will be canceled. At the counseling, the students will be given a chance to choose their desirable branch of engineering. This will be done strictly according to the merit list.

All the admission fees should be timely paid by the candidate. If any candidate fails to pay the fee on time, the seat may be canceled.

If as a candidate you fail the class 10th examination, you would straight away be dismissed to get admission in any of the colleges. In such a case your seat will be reconsidered as a vacant one and a readmission procedure would be done accordingly from the waiting list.

You should always remember that once you are admitted to one of the colleges after the counseling, you cannot change the college and the branch of engineering you are into.
