What’s the purpose of this competitive exam, you may ask. The main aim of this exam is to develop, strengthen and nourish the R&D work force in India.

At present, the Research and Development sector in India lacks talent! Meritorious students prefer professional courses that assure them high-flying jobs!

There’s a lack of interest for R&D careers among young Indian students. The main aim of this competitive exam is to attract talented & meritorious students towards Science & R&D sector.

KVPY helps identify talented students, who have a flair for science and research! Such meritorious students are awarded the fellowship, which will help them fulfill their academic requirements.

Directly and indirectly, this fellowship program adds value to R&D sector in India. This examination is meant for students studying in 11th standard to 1st year of any undergraduate program in basic sciences.
