BSF Constable (General Duty) Recruitment 2023: All Details
Educational Qualification
Minimum qualification required is – 10th pass or equivalent.
Age Limit
Candidate should be aged between 18 to 23 years of age. Upper age limit has been relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and by 3 years for OBC candidates.
BSF Constable (GD) Selection Process
Selection process consists of three main stages. They are –
- Physical Fitness Test
- Written Examination
- Interview
Let us take a closer look at each stage. Here they are –
Physical Fitness Test
Before PFT, authorities will check the height, weight and chest of candidates. After that, they will be subjected to PFT.
PFT consists of the following activities –
- 5 Km Running
- High jump
- Long jump
Maximum marks for running is 12 marks (for candidates who finish it under 23 minutes). Maximum marks for long jump is 6 marks (for 15 feet jump). Maximum marks for high jump is 7 marks (for 4 feet 6 inch jump).
Written Examination
Candidates who manage to clear the PFT are selected to undergo the written examination. Written examination consists of objective as well as descriptive type of questions.
The written exam covers subjects and topics such as –
- General Knowledge
- Mathematics
- English or Hindi
Interview
Written examination is followed by Interview.
Final Merit List
Final merit list is prepared on the basis of candidates’ performance in PFT, written exam as well as Interview.
