Matric Recruitment is commonly known as MR. This entry is meant for candidates who have a minimum educational qualification of 10th pass. It falls under Indian Navy Sailor recruitment.

Indian Navy Matric Recruitment: How to apply?

Advertisements for Matric Recruitment are published on Indian Navy’s website and leading NEWS papers on December/January and June/July each year.

 

For the term 2024, you may find advertisements on December 2023, January 2024, June 2024, July 2024 and December 2024. Once you see the advertisement, visit the joinindiannavy.gov.in website and download the application form.

 

A candidate is supposed to apply for one job post at a time. While filling up the form, a candidate must clearly indicate the entry/job post that he is applying for.

 

The filled up application form has to be sent to appropriate address (mentioned in the advertisements). Application must be sent by ordinary post only. Applications sent via speed post, courier etc will be rejected!

 

The authorities will shortlist applicants based on the marks scored by them in board exams (10th or 12th). Shortlisted candidates will be able to download call letter cum admit card from joinindiannavy.gov.in website.

 

Indian Navy Matric Recruitment: Selection process

The selection process consists of stages such as –

  • Written exam
  • Screening test
  • PFT (Physical Fitness Test)
  • Medical test

Indian Matric Recruitment: PFT (Physical Fitness Test)

PFT will consist of 1.6 Km run to be completed in 7 minutes, 20 squats (Uthak Baithak) and 10 Push-ups. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk. The results of the Written Test are generally declared on the same day. Those who qualify Written Test are permitted to undergo PFT and only those who qualify PFT undergo Medical Examination.

 

Indian Navy Matric Recruitment: Medical test

Entry level Medical standards are different for different entries. Medical examination will be conducted by authorized military doctors as per medical standards prescribed in current regulations applicable to sailors on entry. Candidates declared Temporary unfit during Medicals in the recruitment medical examination can avail specialist review from the specified Military Hospital within a maximum period of 21 days. No further review/ appeal is permissible. Those candidates who are declared Permanent Unfit during Medicals can appeal for specialist opinion in a Military Hospital on payment of Rs 40 by Military Receivable Order (MRO) in the Government Treasury within 21 days. Medical fitness certificate from other than that of the specialist opinion in the designated Military Hospital will NOT be considered. This whole process is generally completed on the same day but it may also take 3-4 days depending on the service requirements or due to unforeseen contingencies.

 

Note: Selection process varies from one entry to another. For example – screening test is only meant for Musician (MR) candidates. Screening test is used to gauge their musical ability.
